Maker’s Hand, Tekamah, NE

My first overnight stay on the road in Nebraska was in Tekamah at the loveliest place, Maker’s Hand. It is a Harvest Host location with lots of extras.

Master’s Hand is home to the “World’s Best Cinnamon Rolls” & they live up to their reputation! You need to order your rolls in advance and I was glad that I did!

When you enter their front door, you first smell the aroma of their house blend coffee. The store is as cute as can be & has lots of great gift ideas—both for yourself & others.

I had also made a reservation for lunch at Master’s Hand and I wasn’t prepared for all the delicious food they serve.

Maker’s Hand is focused on customer service at every turn. They even offer free electricity to their Harvest Host guests. It was a cold, windy night, so it was so appreciated.

Want to see the weather in Tekamah?

Luckily, the really bad weather left the area, but Cappy & I were in for high winds for a couple of weeks. It made for lots of steering wheel gripping & slow speeds. The speed limit here is 75 or 80, so my slow 45-50 was a snail’s pace. It took me longer to get where I was going, but I was safe & in one piece.

It’s easy to get annoyed at slow vehicles, but be mindful of your safety & theirs. Towing a camper in 55-60 MPH winds is not easy, especially when driving against a headwind.

Hi! I am Christi, a full-time RV traveller since August 2021. I have always loved to travel, but COVID-19 put a stop to that. I was fast approaching 50, my condo was being placed up for sale and I was ready for a major change. Originally from a tiny town in rural Southwest Virginia, I am the mother to one son and a rescue Shih Tzu, Cappy. For the last 20 years, I worked in public library systems around the Charlotte & Myrtle Beach areas. I met some amazing people and made great friends along the way. Follow along on my adventures as I travel the US. I hope that our paths will cross one day!
