Having lived at the beach for many years, I forgot how much I loved fall leaves. Fall and spring are my absolute favorite times of the year. British Columbia, Alaska & the Pacific Northwest have certainly put on a color show this season.

I’m still catching up on posts, but today is hot off the press. I spent several hours at Rose Hill in Manito Park in Spokane, Washington.

I started an easy stroll around the park but was overcome with emotion. Being there brought back so many memories of my paternal grandmother, Nellie Stewart Gills. I told you a little about her in a past post & share more in my video today.
If you love the look, smell, or taste of lavender, check out Sequim, Washington! Over the last fifty years, it has become known as the lavender capital of the United States. There are more than a dozen lavender farms in Sequim.

Outside of Anchorage is a unique non-profit featuring musk oxen. The farm features the largest captive herd of Musk oxen in the world. I didn’t know much about them going in but left with a new understanding.

Spanish Fork, Utah
While traveling in Utah this past spring, I visited the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, located just outside of Salt Lake City.

It has been a while since my last post, and I have a lot to share. Summer in Denali National Park was a wonderful experience, but I wasn’t quite prepared for the long dark days in the winter.
Continue reading “Playing Catchup in Washington”My last couple of jobs were working as a shuttle driver in Glacier National Park & in Taos, New Mexico. I’m continuing to drive here in Alaska, too. I transport guests flying on our flightseeing tours to and from the airstrip. I get to talk to people from all parts of the US and the world about a common passion—travel!
Continue reading “Working at Denali Air, Denali National Park, Alaska”It took over a month and 5,000 miles to get from Taos, New Mexico to Denali National Park. It was worth every minute and every mile.
Continue reading “Loving Denali National Park—I may decide to stay a while!”One of my favorite places to visit while living in Taos was the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.
