It is official. I am an Amazonian. Yesterday was my first full day of employment with Amazon and I survived! I am working at one of the facilities in Hebron, KY.
My assigned shift is Wednesday through Saturday from 6:30pm – 5:00am. This was the first time in many, many years that I was up at this time….on purpose!
I trained yesterday on processing customer returns. The facility I am in processes clothing and shoe returns. Believe me when I tell you that I have a new appreciation for this work! It is a physical job in a standing/walking position that works a lot of muscles while scanning items. Luckily, my years working in libraries prepared me for this.
I have met some great people in the Camperforce group who worked here last year. They are back again this year, so I am taking that as a good sign. I will be telling you more about my experience in the days and weeks to come.
Now it’s time for some much deserved sleep!

You are amazing to take the graveyard shift while walking/ standing all of that time period! An immense building & operation for sure! How long of a time period will you be doing this?
