Happy Thanksgiving!

I want to wish each of you a happy, healthy Thanksgiving. This year is the first on the road so Thanksgiving is very different.

I celebrated Thanksgiving with Lee and new friends in Rabbit Hash. The owners of the restaurant in Rabbit Hash invited us to eat Thanksgiving dinner with them at their “Orphan’s Thanksgiving.” Anyone who didn’t have a place to have dinner was invited.

The restaurant provided two big smoked turkeys. Attendees brought all of the sides and dessert. We ate in a barn where they have live music several days a week. I brought my specialties, deviled eggs and homemade cranberry sauce. One of the gentlemen there lived in New Orleans for many years and he brought shrimp stew served over rice. We had plenty to eat and no one left hungry.

Work at Amazon is going great and I can’t believe that I have been working here for 6 weeks. Only four weeks until I head west to Kansas. I am finally settling into working nights and getting a good amount of sleep. However, I have been picking up extra shifts and working as much overtime as possible. Shifts worked the last four days paid double time! Thank you, Amazon.

The downside is that when not working, about all I do is sleep. I rationalize it because I think I will catch up on rest when I get to Kansas. Love to everyone!

Hi! I am Christi, a full-time RV traveller since August 2021. I have always loved to travel, but COVID-19 put a stop to that. I was fast approaching 50, my condo was being placed up for sale and I was ready for a major change. Originally from a tiny town in rural Southwest Virginia, I am the mother to one son and a rescue Shih Tzu, Cappy. For the last 20 years, I worked in public library systems around the Charlotte & Myrtle Beach areas. I met some amazing people and made great friends along the way. Follow along on my adventures as I travel the US. I hope that our paths will cross one day!

  2. Happy Thanksgiving Christi! Sounds like you had a great meal! So nice of them to invite you while traveling.
We had a delicious dinner with Garry and Cindy Reese, Dave and Diane Lackner and Joe and Marilyn Felock.
The weather has been cold here, 29 degrees this morning. It looks like winter is here.
Say warm in your cozy camper!
