Countdown to Yellowstone!

I can’t believe that my time in Kansas is already coming to a close. I arrived at the end of December and have less than two weeks left. Where does the time go?

Yellowstone Bound

My next assignment begins on April 25th. I will be at Yellowstone until October. I will be working for Delaware North, who operates lodging, tours & activities for guests in and around Yellowstone National Park. I will be at West Yellowstone, so if you visit, be sure to stop and say hello.

2022 will mark the 150th Anniversary of the establishment of Yellowstone as the first national park.

This will be my first visit to Yellowstone, so I am looking forward to soaking in all of the sights and activities. There is a recreation program offered to employees which has some wonderful activities. I checked put some of their schedules and am ready for trivia night.

Yellowstone Co-Op Employee Recreation Program (YCERP) provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities for all associates in the Park including softball, basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, raft trips, guided hikes, photo contests, educational seminars, backpacking gear rental and others. Many program activities are free, while others have a small fee.

Surprise— I am definitely going to try fly fishing. If you have any pointers, tips, or suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I can’t wait to get back on the road. Until next time!

Hi! I am Christi, a full-time RV traveller since August 2021. I have always loved to travel, but COVID-19 put a stop to that. I was fast approaching 50, my condo was being placed up for sale and I was ready for a major change. Originally from a tiny town in rural Southwest Virginia, I am the mother to one son and a rescue Shih Tzu, Cappy. For the last 20 years, I worked in public library systems around the Charlotte & Myrtle Beach areas. I met some amazing people and made great friends along the way. Follow along on my adventures as I travel the US. I hope that our paths will cross one day!

  4. Can’t wait for you to go to Yellowstone! It’s so beautiful, you’ll think you’re in heaven. It’s been a long time for us, 1968, but a place you’ll never forget!

  5. Your upcoming time in Yellowstone reminds me of our time there back in 1972. What a beautiful park! I hope your time there is everything you think it will be!

  6. Hi Christie,

I was in Yellowstone in the winter about 15 years ago with Otto – we went on a tour to see the Bison, wildlife & I remember ‘Old Faithful’ was still flowing. Maybe we went cross country skiing, I can’t remember.

It was very cold, so your timing there is perfect!

The enormous size of the area made a huge impression on me. We are getting more & more crowded in SC with thousands and thousands of new houses going up even in swamps- so the vastness of Yellowstone seems divine!
