Yellowstone Update

It has been snowing all day here at Yellowstone today. The park is empty of visitors, all the entrances & exits are closed and employees are not working.

None of the park has electricity right now. Some of the villages are without electricity completely, but Grant Village has generators which power everything here. We had a meeting with one of the park rangers today & they are still assessing damage throughout the park. Rivers still haven’t crested, so we may have more flooding before it clears. It looks like some of the entrances may be closed for extended periods while roads and bridges are repaired.

I am fortunate to be on the meal plan here which provides three hot meals a day seven days a week to those who opt in. We have an Employee Dining Room (EDR) and we eat our meals together, which is nice.

I was asked to be the trivia & Bingo host at our village. Today was the first day playing Bingo & it was a lot of fun. We are going to alternate each week between trivia & Bingo. If you have any good trivia, send it to me.

I haven’t been able to load any pictures onto my posts due to the internet, or lack of internet. Rest assured I have some gorgeous photos and I am excited to share them with you.

I want to thank all of you for keeping me in your thoughts and your kind messages. Love to you all!

Hi! I am Christi, a full-time RV traveller since August 2021. I have always loved to travel, but COVID-19 put a stop to that. I was fast approaching 50, my condo was being placed up for sale and I was ready for a major change. Originally from a tiny town in rural Southwest Virginia, I am the mother to one son and a rescue Shih Tzu, Cappy. For the last 20 years, I worked in public library systems around the Charlotte & Myrtle Beach areas. I met some amazing people and made great friends along the way. Follow along on my adventures as I travel the US. I hope that our paths will cross one day!

  5. Glad you are safe and making the best of the situation. As for the trivia, how about a little Beatles trivia as Paul McCartney celebrates his 80th birthday this week. What is Paul McCartney’s middle name. (It’s Paul, his given name is James Paul McCartney.

  6. We are very glad that you are safe and able to get hot meals every day. The videos of the devastation we have seen are terrible. We still have memories of the beautiful scenery we saw back in 1972 and realize that Mother Nature always has the last word. Stay safe!
