It has been a while since my last post, and I have a lot to share. Summer in Denali National Park was a wonderful experience, but I wasn’t quite prepared for the long dark days in the winter.
Cappy & I are both doing well back in the lower 48. We headed south and are currently on Marrowstone Island in Washington. The weather here is perfect in the 60s, even if a little rainy!

The drive from Denali took me on a different route than I drove north. I saw so much of the Yukon and British Columbia. I spotted lots of wildlife, including sheep, bear, deer & moose.
One of my favorite parts of the drive is Destruction Bay in the Yukon Territory.

Why do they call it Destruction Bay?
In the 1940s, a severe windstorm destroyed many of the buildings in what was then solely a highway construction and maintenance camp. The name “Destruction Bay” seemed fitting, and it stuck.

While in between seasons, I’m going to be posting a lot from the past few months. Alaska and the Pacific Northwest are stunning. I hope you enjoy seeing it.

Great to see you back posting. We have been wondering and worrying about you.
