Back to Billings, Montana

After sailing back to Tampa, it was time to start heading north. Mom & I flew back to Myrtle Beach to pick up our dogs. Our dogsitter Michelle took such good care of Cappy & Izzy while we were away.

We picked up mom’s car & headed to Charlotte to spend time with my son, Rob. I hadn’t seen Rob since I started traveling & it was so good to have the three of us all together. Unfortunately, I had to fly back to Billings the day before Thanksgiving.

Santa Cruz de La Palma, Canary Islands, Post 1

The last stop before cruising back to Tampa was our favorite of the Canary Islands, La Palma. We spent the day on a walking tour of Santa Cruz de La Palma & with a fabulous tour guide.

Dolphin & Whale Watching in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, Cayman Islands

Exploring Lanzarote, Canary Islands

Lanzarote was the first of three of the Canary Islands we visited. It is the 4th largest of 8 inhabited islands. It’s such a unique landscape of volcano landscape that UNESCO declared the island a Biosphere Reserve in 1993.

I have a lot of photos in this post because they are the only way to do the island justice. I hope you enjoy our adventures here.

Cruising to Málaga, Spain

After spending a wonderful week in Italy, it was time for Mom & I to board our cruise ship. We took a taxi to the cruise port, Civitavecchia, which is an hour outside of Rome. Our taxi driver drove like we were being chased by the police & we arrived in no time!

Hopping On & Off in Rome, Italy

Mom & I spent our last day in Rome on one of the Hop On & Off tour buses.  I use them everywhere I can because they are so convenient.  Rome’s tour was packed with stops at all the highlights.

Positano & the Amalfi Coast, Italy

Our time in Italy was flying by!  Mom & I departed early the next morning headed to Positano, the most famous & iconic village on the Amalfi Coast.  It borders the Mediterranean Sea to one side & the peaks of the Lattari Mountains to the other.  The entire Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
